The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of a Friday morning crash in which a Citrus Springs woman was killed.
According to the FHP, the woman, Larissa McKinnon, 32, of Citrus Springs, was a passenger in a van being driven by Jerome Jackson, of Valdosta, Ga.
The FHP says the vehicle was traveling east on West Dunklin Street in Dunnellon shortly after 6 a.m. when Jackson reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and to strike the road's shoulder. After exiting the roadway and traveling onto the west shoulder, the van then flipped several times, ejecting McKinnon before coming to rest on its roof.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Jackson was seriously injured and was transported to Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The FHP accident report says he was wearing a seatbelt, but McKinnon was not.
No charges have been filed, the FHP has said.
