Snow and sleet fell on Citrus County on Saturday. Okay, it was just sleet - but it looked like snow.

Sleet on ramp, carSure, it wasn't anything like up North, but it caused county residents to note what they've been "missing" while living in Florida.

Tiny flecks of sleet fell, making it appear that snow had landed on the hoods and tops of cars, and warm-weather outdoor furniture, but it was soon gone with the "balmy" temperatures in the upper 30's. The snow-sleet was the vanguard of an approaching cold front that brought hard freezes to Citrus County overnight Saturday into Sunday and overnight Sunday into Monday.

The weather caused the cancellations of events across Florida, but other events went on anyway - like events for runners at Walt Disney World and the Manatee Festival in Crystal River. The organizers of the Manatee Festival promised to have an adequate supply of hot chocolate to festival-goers for the last day of the Manatee Festival today.
