The Citrus County Sheriff's Office on Monday arrested a Lecanto man and charged him with trafficking in methamphetamine.

Arrested was Joseph Shane Damron, 30, of 5359 S. Destin Point.

According to the arrest report, deputies had been called to the area by neighbors, who had reported an unrelated robbery in the area. During that investigation, deputies were told that Damron had been manufacturing methamphetamine, and that a number of items were located in his bedroom and master bathroom at his home.

Obtaining a search warrant, deputies went to Damron's home, and found a number of items related to manufacturing meth in Damron's bedroom and master bathroom. Items included an active "cook" of meth, syringes, digital scales and chemicals.

Three witnesses, which included Damron's girlfriend, told deputies he had been cooking meth in the master bathroom for the past few months.

Damron, who was already in the county jail, charged with burglary and grand theft, was arrested and charged, and bond was set at $65,500.

According to the CCSO arrest reports, Damron was arrested on Nov. 15 and charged with possession of methamphetamine and petit theft, and bond was set at $5,250. On Monday, Damron was charged with dealing in stolen property, burglary and grand theft, and bond was set at $10,000.
