HOMOSASSA – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, along with the Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park, will host the annual Christmas Celebration of Lights event Friday, Dec. 18 through Thursday, Dec. 24 and an additional day on Saturday, Dec. 26.
This year’s event will focus on the 20th anniversary of Homosassa Springs as a Florida State Park. Visitors will enjoy a variety of entertainment, holiday lights, decorations and music while walking down Memory Lane for a special presentation of photos of the park’s history.
The Miss L-toe Café will be set up in the Garden of the Springs with a selection of tasty holiday treats for sale. The park’s Wildside Café will also be open the evenings of the event.
Each evening from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. will feature a variety of entertainment, followed by a holiday party with DJ Joe Dube from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitors will be invited to dance under the lights or just relax and listen to the music.
Santa and his animals will visit the celebration on the evenings of Dec. 22 and 23.
A donation of $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children ages six through 12 is suggested. Children ages five and under are admitted free. On Christmas Eve, donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted for the We Care Food bank, in lieu of a financial donation.
Transportation will be provided by tram from the Visitor Center parking lot on U.S. 19 to the West entrance on Fishbowl Drive. For more information, call the park office at (352) 628-5343, ext. 1002, Mondays through Fridays. For a complete schedule, please see attached flyer.
The event will take place from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 18-24 and 26 at the Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, 4150 S. Suncoast Boulevard in Homosassa.

Download a brochure (PDF format)
